4 songs: A hey, a ho, and a hey nonino

Composer: Erich Wolfgang Korngold (1897-1957)
Mezzo-soprano: Anne-sofie von Otter

1 Desdemona's Song

"Her salt tears fell from her, and softened the stones.
Sing willow, willow, willow."

2 Under the Greenwood Tree

"Under the greenwood tree,
Who loves to lie with me."

3 Blow, Blow, Thou Winter Wind

"Most friendship is feigning,
Most loving mere folly."

4 When Birds Do Sing

"This carol they began that hour,
With a hey, a ho, and a hey nonino,
How that a life was but a flower
In the spring time, the only pretty ring time,
When birds do sing, hey ding a ding, ding;
Sweet lovers love the spring."
